A standard rotor has a 60* twist to it and a High Helix has a 120* twist to it. The High Helix because of the extra twist pushes the air out more towards the front of the blower (at a higher angle) so the pie cutout came into play and then the retro with the cut out towards the bearing support to let more air out. Standard blowers push more air straight down and need the square openings in the bottom of the case. If you put standard 60* rotors in the high helix case the air wants to go more straight down and you don't have that opening in your case. The answer is no it would not work.

    rotors

Lonnie ,not to dispute Mike Canter; he is always helpfull to everyone and very knowledgable but... If you go to RBS s' website and do a search for "retro" he sells many blowers that are retro cases with 60 degree rotors.
Mike is correct that the 120* rotor pushes the air more toward the front of the the case but so does the 60* rotor , just not as much. Iwould say check with littlefield or The blowershop or BDS or any other company that builds a 60* retro blower . If anything what you are doing seams as if it would work better than a full opening bottom case. It seems to me that a full opening bottom would only work better with a straight lobe rotor that pushes the air straight down. No offense Mike ,Just my opinion !

    JMO,

We run a Littlefield 60* retro 6-71 from JR @ RBS on a BBC and absolutely love it. It makes the fuel distribution,, hat nozzles only, on a BBC, VERY equal. All cylinders burning very close to the same. Engine is happy, 22# boost @ 32% over on a 477 BBC.

I am not sure about this but
someone correct me if i am wrong:

look at the fuel cars, dont they have to run 60 degree rotors
looks to me that they all run the delta opening
why else would the blower be so far back it is ready to fall off the back

The fuel blowers I have seen all have the straight openings. There are probably many I haven't seen. The 60* twist (helix) still pushed the air forward so they set back to make it come out in the middle of the manifold. Some of the Top Fuel manifolds that I have seen actually look like a short carb manifold with a center plenum and runners.
