Mine is 4" from the flat part of the drivers side valve cover to the rear of the bearing plate bolts on a SSI 14-71. This is with a 2.5" setback on a Big Block Chevy.

No, they are not all the same.....

Each manufacturer will usually have a reference dimension from the front driver's side mounting stud back to the rear of the case. Using such a reference system encompasses not only your manifold design atop the engine, but also the supercharger length with respect to that stud.

Back when I was looking, and trying to decide how much I would have to "notch" mine, I quickly discovered that each supercharger company was a little different in terms of length.

After asking, SSI sent me drawings showing these dimensions.

I found that almost all supercharger companies could supply the dimension I indicated earlier. DMPE, Kobelco, SSI, Littlefield, PSI, etc. That way, everyone is on an even playing field.

Checking from one stud on your manifold, in your chassis, to the nearest obstructions, is by far the best way to verify whether or not your current obstructions must move and by how much.

    Happy "notching"...........
