Application: IHRA Top Alcohol funny car

Question: Am I going to make more power with a BAE fathead 4 head and New PSI roots blower or with a BAE fathead 5 motor and a modern SSI/Kobelco blower? I have a budget so its going to be one or the other

Next question same application: I have a Carbon fiber 96 Dodge Daytona body and a 02" glass c5 Vette body, Which will run faster? (The vette is new so there is no tin or bracing yet, I can have exotic materials used) Basically weight vs. aerodynamics.

Thanks ahead of time for any and all help,
    Trevor Sherwood

    screw

I don't know the quick time for TAFC, but Russ Lindert went in the 5.30's in 01 or 02 with BAE 4's...remember in a Blown Alky application, the blower is the MOST important part of the equation every time, so go with the screw. There should be plenty of good BAE 5 stuff on the market now, so I would possibly postpone coming out and buy the PSI and 5's before investing in the older 4's. But to answer your question, the 4's will run just fine.

I don't see the vette body having enough aero advantage to make up for the weight disadvantage. Big heavy fiberglass bodies are a royal pain the ass anyway. I would go with the carbon option if possible.
