B&J Gear Ratios

    How do you calculate ratios on planets that are not marked.

    You have to count teeth and use a calculator. I don't know if a B&J use compound planetary gears or single planetary gears. Below is how it is computed for a Lenco bug gears are gears

    GEAR SETS WITH COMPOUND STYLE PLANET GEARS ARE FACTORED THIS WAY. DIVIDE LARGE PLANET GEAR TOOTH COUNT INTO SUN GEAR. NOW DIVIDE RING GEAR INTO SMALL PLANET GEAR TOOTH COUNT.NOW TAKE BOTH NUMBERS AND MULTIPLY +1. =RATIO..

    GEAR SETS WITH SINGLE STYLE PLANET GEARS ARE FACTORED THIS WAY.DIVIDE RING GEAR INTO SUN GEAR+1. =RATIO.

    The other way is to count the teeth on all the gears and call them.
