Still wiring the dragster, almost done now. I got my points box wired to the coil, and also to the cable kill switch. I decided it would be good to test the system, so I used my ohm meter to check for resistance with the switch closed, and as expected, I showed continuity from the positive stud on the coil to ground. I then pulled the cable (to the open, or run, position) and checked again, expecting to find no continuity from the positive stud on the coil to ground, but to my surprise I had continuity still. I unhooked the red lead from the coil to the points box and the continuity went away. I unhooked the points box from everything else and re-hooked the red lead and got continuity again. In short, no pun intended, whenever I hook the points box to the coil I show a loop back to ground. Is this normal? At this point, no pun intended again, I am assuming the points box is shorted to ground until the mag triggers it. Is this true?

    Thanks for any help.
