For those who are running 8mm belts [the good Problem Solver PS purple belt....], with a PSI D or C at 200% or way more O/D, what top pulley tooth count are you typically using?

What's the minimum tooth count that you've found that gives decent belt life? I'm assuming that the top tooth count is the limiting factor, and that the bottom tooth count then falls in line by default?

Would be curious to hear some feedback on this.

    Thanks.

Run a 33 top tooth at 100 over as that is the smallest I can run with the PSI snout without going to the RCD snout. Seems to kick the belt a little easier when pedaling than when I had a 34 or 35 on top but overall not too bad. Using the 1600 8M 84-PS belt. Was thinking you didn't mean 200 over as the PSI is limited to 128% in PDRA and a lot less in NHRA.

Thanks Tom. Yes we are thinking the same. 200% is 100 over and 228% is 128 over, etc. That's interesting about the 33 and was exactly what I was wondering. I've got a 37 up top right now, so based on what you are saying a 33 or less would start to became a bit of a pain in terms of belt life?......

I've never tried one that small but that is what I was thinking. Maybe someone else on here can share if they used a smaller pulley and their results.
