WTB 2 1/2 tubing & 5 in collectors

Hi ,
I was wondering if someone would list a good place to buy some 2 1/2 tubing with assorted bends & two 5 in collectors. This will be used to make headers that will exit out the fender sides. Does anyone make a kit for this? All the kits I have found are under the vehicle. I think I can get by with mild steel.

Just take the standard under the car set from like Dynatech, and snag a few other assorted bends. Cut them a little short for a standard collector and then weld on a 30 (or a little more depending on the car) degree bend and then the collector. Then cut the collector 1 1/2 inch past the body. Pretty simple really.
Most of the sets I have seen come through here are almost the exact same header as the under car kit, just with that flair out right before the collector.

 

If a person wanted to save a buck, could they get 5" truck exhaust pipe and make their own collectors? Same stuff but, maybe cheaper because of the volume it's produced in for an industry where it's not as special?

 

I don't see why that would not work. Same basic material. But the big stuff is not where the cost is, it is in all the little friggin' bends bought one by one. Sometimes the header kits are much cheaper. (And they ususally have the collector done in the kit. Sometimes a merge collector. )

 

The problem with the "truck" stuff is its thick walled, very heavy.

Jerry Bickel has the collector your after. I run these and made my own 2 1/2 into 5 also. For the price you can't hardly purchase the material and make your own collectors for $198. They'll meet your needs.
