Piston Pin & Rod Problems

    Have any of you heard of any brooks b2 rod problems or solutions for piston pin collapse.
    This is a 526 and 528 pro mod set up with 4.500 bore and 7.100 rods in kb block with early heads.
    Not fat head stuff.
    Pins are the best available better than tool steel
    and are 1.094.
    I would like to find a solution for this problem. Pin collapsed once , rods went out block on dyno session and were replaced. Then went out the side of the block at 300 ft first pass out. Are R&R rods any better I heard they may be popular in pro mod ranks. I am just glad this was a friends motor and not mine. I am building mine now and do not want to have the same issues.:confused:

    Sounds to me like you have a slight hydraulic condition from an overly rich fuel system and/or not enough timing.

    wrist pins

    This sounds more like a tune up or clearence problem,to much cyl. press.?
    I have run just about everyones rod and found you can wreck any of them. I use wrist pins from Alan Johnson and rods from Brooks.

    What do you mean by the pin collapsed? I've seen pins bend, out of round, but not collapsed. What material are the pins made from? Wayne is right, a bad tune up will wreck anything.
