Whipple R980 PLZ LOOK

Hello i wantd to know if anyone could tell me where to purchase a used whipple r980.but i also wanted to know which is better the PSI D or the r980 from what i hear the whipple is more efficent at making boost without being extremely overdrivin and produces more TQ..I also wanted to know if this supercharger is nhra certified... parten my lack of knowledge of superchargers im a turbo guy.. but ive been doing as much studing as possible and want to try somthing diffrent... thanks!

As Far As Where To Purchase A Whipple Blower Throw Up A Add On The Classified Section Of This Site For A Whipple Wanted. They Typically Sell For 3500.00 To 4500.00 With A Snout And Restraint. The Whipple Is Heavier If I Remember Right 120 Pounds Psi Close To 90 Pounds. The Psi Typically Sells For 7500.00 On Up. Dques Is Correst The Whipple Cannot Be Certified But People Do Still Run Them In The Boat Drags As Well As Sand Drags And Bonneville And Outlaw Pro Mod Races. In Outlaw Form Most Times There Are No Overdrive Limits So Either Blower Will Be Able To Produce More Than Enough Boost To Satisfy A Racers Needs.

 

I believe the new rules in nhra allows you to run a screw blower (whipple) without certification if your ET is 7.50 or higher.Otherwise it has to be sfi certified, which I dont think can be done to a Whipple anymore.But if you want one, I have 1 early style, and 1 late style with the injector built in.I also know of a certifiable PSI model A for sale.
