Ok I got a racepak iq3 dash and wondering if the 230-vp-tach-4 rpm module is going to work with Mallory magneto or not? 2 wire hook up 1 is yellow which is signal wire and black of course is ground lol. They told me I need an external rpm pickup btw.

When I put the Racepac on my top fuel bike, they told me I needed some kind of adapter.(don't remember what it was) I used a set of magnets on the flywheel and used a factor to get engine rpm. Racepac walked me through the factoring and it was pretty simple. In my case, it was easier to do it this way than to go through the mag for rpm. One issue is that in case of losing a drive belt, you don't know how high the engine actually went. A sensor on the balancer would work well, using a sensor like would be used for timing. Just a thought.

Got tach working. Have to program it a little different its reading lower than what I know for a fact its idling at lol. Steady reading but not accurate though. Hopefully I can get it figured out without having to fire it 10 times and burn up a bunch of fuel.

There may have to be a factor corrected in the software. If you call them, they can walk you through it. This happened to me and it was a simple fix, but I didn't know how without their help. It's been a few years, so I don't remember the steps, but it was in the car configuration files.
