Who Has Used The MSD 8+ With The Grid Controller?

Wondering how it worked, any issues? I use a launch timing curve with the Grid controller and Grid ignition now (7730 and 7720), has anyone used just the controller (7730) with the 8+?

 

A friend of mine runs the MSD-8 Plus with a Powergrid Controller. He has really good results, and starts easy and runs a D rotor PSI/BBC with it at pretty low boost for now. That is what we ran in the Procharged TD, an 8+ and a Grid.
Only issues we ever had were around grounds on the Grid and EMI from the EFI (I assume that is where it was getting it) I shielded the white trigger wire and never had another issue.

 

Have it on ProCharger car, 30 psi boost, really like it.

Used it with a 10 on a pro charged alky motor, worked just fine!

 

We retard on launch, but never use start retard.

 

Why not?

 

Start retards, if more that a few degrees can result in backfires and manifold blowups.

 

Hmm, guess I've been lucky, never had an issue.

 

Sorry, just back from the Dallas race and seeing this.
We also did not use the start retard.
