I have been running autolite plugs in my blown bbc, but finding it difficult reading the heat.Any suggestions on other mfgs with an easier to read discolouring ground strap and threads? Thanks,DAVE

NGK's have a bright cadmium coating on them and it really helps give you some contrast.

I learned on NGK's and thats all I've used in blown motors. They work good for our app and are easy to read.

NGK's are really easy to read in my engines, but they don't last for crap. I played a little game to see how long I could keep a single set of Autolite Racing plugs in my CIFCA funny car engine without falling off in performance. It was 316 passes.
So I read on the dyno, then put NGKs in on the track to see how the tune-up differs from the dyno, then back in with AR's and run till I feel really guilty, not looking at the plugs much at all. Once I get to where I want, I read the onboard computer.

Sorry, that is not quite true--I cannot get the race series plugs. B or BR series 9 or 10 can be had for $1.45 plus shipping. JW
