Get a complete driveshaft built by Mark Williams. You will not go wrong. They will also tell you what material to use. I would think you would need a 4130 with billet yokes/slip joints. 53" is a long driveshaft so you will get lots of twist and your car is heavy.

x2 on the mark williams has made a couple for me and the are very nice pieces.
At that length I would also think 4130 would be the choice.
Sounds like a Top Sportsman deal.....don't forget the rear drive shaft loop:;)

    Drive shaft

I use Strange driveshafts (just because Bears Perf is in Canada) Definatly go with the 1350 series u-joints and solid forged chromoly weld joints and yolks. If you can fit the tube in your chassis go with the 3 1/2" chromoly shaft tube as well.
