We are assembling an older Rodeck 481t with an Olson pan. The regular BBC gasket is to thin at the front and the rears. The one piece is better. Is there a different gasket that should be used as the step in the block is quite large .
Is there something else that should be done to prevent the gasket blowing out?
    Thanks

Rodeck had their own gasgets that were thicker. I've been lookingfor over a year for them. For now I double-up stock BBC gasgets with silicone. GOOD LUCK !

I have a new set of Rodeck end seals and they are under lock and key until I figure out a way to make a mold or something along this line.

If you have an idea on how to remake these seals I would be happy to use my seals as the patterns and provide new seals for Rodeck users.

There is a pourable rubber that I used to make a seal on a turbo Harley Sportster project I worked on. I've been struggling finding it back.

Does anyone know the real reason for these uber thick, hard as a brick, pita to deal with seals? Why so dang thick?

The pans and covers haven't changed since the 60s.

I don't know but it reminds me of this...
I made an oil pan from scratch one time and used a truck block and a weiand front cover to copy from. When I went to put it on the actual motor (which had a Donovan frt cover) the radius on the cover was quite a bit different. Ticked me off I had worked so hard to match the radius, suppose that weiand frt cover was for a Rodeck?
