Need a block checked ?

I am thinking of purchacing a block and need to send it to a good shop o have it checked out it is a tfx cast block

 

if you are just wanting to know the history on it call them with the numbers from the block..Dave

 

It has been repaired and i want to confirm it has no problems

 

We had good luck w/ Rage Block Repair out of Ct. Had to ship it there was our only complaint.

I guess it would help if you posted what area in the country you are living in. There a quite a few good shops around. You want to make sure everything is square. That is were the real cost comes from. Many people can weld it up. but does the cam still slide in, decks square, line bore good, distance between crank and cam center line.good? you can get a crank gear for shorter distances, but only to a point. Take your time and make sure before you put out that hard earned money. Good Luck Don

 

If it is a TFX block, I don't think you can call AJPE and get info because they didn't make the cast blocks, and won't work on them.

You might be able to call John Rodeck, who made the TFX blocks before Alan Johnson bought TFX,he may or may not be able to help you.

Whatever you do, get a clean bill of health from someone in the block business before paying for it.
