I have a friend with a 548 BBC brodix big brodie 2 heads no port work. It was originally set up for an 8-71. Cam is dur@50 285-288 valve timing @50 31btdc closes 74abdc ex. opens 76bbdc 32atdc lift 782 714 (112ls)dont know the flow #s on the heads but now he is making 38 # hh retro14-71 @ 10 over at 8500 rpm just seems high to me for that od.Its like there is a restriction (heads, cam) ?? I was thinking he should make around 15-20 psi its 10 to 1 compression on alcohol how wrong am I ?? thanks Craig:confused:

That does sound pretty high. Ive got a 505 with dart pro 1 310cc, 10 3/4 -1 comp with a 660 lift 114 LC on alcohol.I run it at 8% under with a 14-71 HH retro and am getting 15lbs at only 6500rpm.Im curious to what boost #s I would get with 8% over.I think the higher #s are from the small heads ,cam ,and headers(2 1/8)

We used to run 540cid, ported Dart 360's, HH retro 14 @ 45% over with about 7000RPM and would make about 38 psi.
The cam was similiar, although I don't recall the exact numbers. Our gages were plumbed into the back of the plenum, I'm assuming a higher reading would have been seen if they were in the front.

    If I was 1.45 x 7000 = 10150 rotor speed and he is 1.10 x 8500 = 9350 rotor speed, we're within 10% and my blower is mid 90's technology.

Certainly the amount of fuel going through the blower and the cam are effecting this reading.
