I just wanted to share something we did on Chris Foster's TAFC this past weekend that seemed to help with the rear main.

I'll try to take some pictures this weekend, but we slotted the three drain holes on the rear main cap allow more oil to flow and then notched the oil pan and pan gasket around the drainback holes. Before this weekend, even on a good run, the bearing would only wear on one side. Ken Juszczyk turned us on to this trick, and the bearing has never looked better.

I figured if it could help somebody down the road with a BAE block, it was worth posting.

    bearing problem

Is that caused from the weight of the clutch slinging to that side of the crank?

    Excellent Post Will,

Its amazing how some of the best stuff in life is free. I can see the logic in it, if the oil can't flow out it's gotta get pretty hot on that side of the bearing the amazing thing is that the rear seal was holding it in as well as it does, I would love to know how many psi the oil was in the valley between the bearing and the seal
