Is it just me and my old eyes or an optical illusion? Check out the NHRA website and look at the photo of the zmax track still under construction, especially the spectator stands near the finish line. Previous info said the mid track wall was 700' long so it looks like the stands on both sides extend to the finish line. If so, note the concrete wall on the spectator side. If the stands are level, it looks like the track runs down hill. If so, big mph? Are there any tracks with a noticeable grade down hill? Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.

    Hola Amigo i amigas!

im not a genius, or drive a race car. But I think it's the same concept like the Las vegas track where they built a undergound tunel/passway. Sonoma is just like that too. just my 4 cents. :( (im constipated):(

I think it's an optical delusion. They must have used Plum Bob Square Head to level it.. :D

According to the FIA Regulations (which are taken from the NHRA regulations) the maximum rise/fall in a dragstrip is 1%. So a fall(or rise) of 13.2 feet over the quarter would be allowed.... Kwinana Beach in Perth, Western Australia was built with the fall designed in - track then rises in the shutdown area. I think Western Sydney does the same.....

Are you saying that the rules say that? do they mean that the rise could be 6 ft up at the 1/8 and 13.2 low at the finish, I was told that Billy Myers track in Texas is perfectly level.;)

Theoretically, a track that does that would probably be legal under the track regulations. Whether anyone would be daft enough to build one like that is another question. Mind you, the left hand lane at the old Vegas track was bumpy enough that maybe someone was trying ;-)

    From Wikipedia.....

    Etymology Old English dæfte

    Adjective
    daft (comparative dafter, superlative daftest)

    insane, mad, silly, stupid

[edit] Derived terms "as daft as a brush"
    Retrieved from "http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/daft"

But your video is right on the button ;-)
