Curious to see what heads you guys think work good on a blown Alcohol circuit boat? Will most likely be a 1471 roots. Wondering how the 14°or 11° Dart stuff or the 12° profiler stuff would work like. I remember some one telling me that blown alcohol didn't like such shallow chambers and the straight valve angles for some reason.

The Brodix SR-20 does well for me although we run twin turbos. The backup motor has Dart 410s, When we ran 14 blowers, the Brodix BB2X slightly weorked over made good power on alky. The SR-20 however does take it's own rocker system and intake manifold. JW

Thanks for the replies so far but heads need to be wet as engine will run for maybe 5-7 minutes per race. Not sure if the billet stuff will work. Was more curious about the shallow chambers and valve angles on the 11, 12 and 14° stuff. How do they work and are they forgiving as far as tuning goes?

14 degree would be the best. Pull truck?

The exotic heads and shallow chambers might be a litte better ? The technology on the convetional heads is hard to beat for $ , they other post on he made on the 14 degree might make more power , not for sure on he tuning window ? You can call Dennis Piranio @ performace engines , he is real good at calibration on fuel systems , 940 383 2642. I have had good experiance with him, he is very helpful.

Did a bit of research and had a look at the Profiler XL series. Sean to have a large port and are suppose to have a very stable rocker setup. Reher Morrison has there version as the Sniper XL. Has any one had any experience with these. Also took a look at RM 20° as it seems to have std. port location as well. This way our fabricated manifold will still be usable .

14 Degree big chiefs with the oval port intakes are awesome. You have a wide tuning area, there are bolt on manifolds available. The sniper head is very nice as well, thick deck, the rocker boss area is solid as well. The sr-20 is a great cylinder head, my friend Ricky designed that head it is MEAN. I would call him for a suggestion he is one of the top 2 cylinder head guys in the usa. 832-721-0980

The sr-20 has a specific manifold pitch and port height, yours would need modified.

Yes, the Brodix SR-20 takes a different intake than a "standard", but is readily available from Edelbrock (3897 or something like that). Jesel and T&D make the shaft rocker system--I use T&D. I have been using the SR-20 for at least 4 years. Mine were massaged by Frankenstein. One thing, however, they are designed for a 4.6" bore from Brodix. I had Brodix do me a set of solids "unfinished" and had Chris do the chambers for the 4.5" bore to fit my KBO and Arias/New Century blocks. I am thinking they take a tall rocker cover also. I cannot complain about the performance. Motors are turbocharged, so don't know if that would make a difference to you. JW

I am running the Profiler 375x CNC head direct from Reher Morrison and prepared by Darin Morgan personally. They flow like 450+ on the intake side and make great power with Ti valves and minimal maintenance. They did take a huge amount of die grinder work to get the push rods to clear with 7/16" on Int and 1/2" on exh side. Drain back is poor but you can do some work with the die grinder in that area and drain back hoses at the back of the head is a must.

Thanks guys for your input. Plenty to choose from including the Edelbrock Victor Pro with the moved valve centerlines. They require different pistons and with the 24° valve angles are getting 500+cfm. Anyone used them?
