hemi water block

looking to build a 1500 to 1800 hp procharger hemi this winter. car has to be self starting and will have no tow vehicle. will I need a full water block or can I just run water through the heads. fuel is methanol. what block,head,bore, stroke, combo would you suggest. all input is appreciated. thanks bob.

 

not exactly your combo but i'm running a KB wedge 454 cui blown and alcohol injected,roughly 1400 hp with conservative cam and blower.
block is a KB/MOPAR water block that is run dry,with alum water heads that are filled with block filler.
bore is 4.52 and stroke 3.54
FYI,the wedge block is a hemi block with relocated upper head studs.

thanks for your reply. can you drive back to the pits after a run or do you tow back.

 

i tow it back as the pits are always crowded,but would not be a problem

 

I think you'll find that one of the biggest reasons for towing is to save your oil. A blower engine runs pretty fat at idle and if you drive it around much you're going to have as much fuel in the oil pan as oil.
