So I see the NHRA has officially outlawed any type of insert / diverter below the mating surface of the blower between injector and blower.

Going to be interesting to see what happens.

In looking at that, do you think that inserts in the injector that extend below the mating surface would be legal. I think it said "mounted below the mating surface"

Well I'm sure that they will reword it accordingly. As far as I know all the inserts mount to the bottom of injector plate and not mounted to the blower.

It would be an even playing field in TA/FC but in TA Dragster it is not with the mix of blown cars and A fuelers. Let's see now...at Pomona a 5.22 best for a blown car with a shoe and a 5.11 best by an A Fueler. Also best of 275 mph vs 280 by 2 fuelers also shows a power differential in favour of the fuelers.Without a shoe the blown cars will slow down with less boost.
Where did this come from? Did the driver's commission reps have input? The fields seemed quite even this year so where did this come from? Was there any discussion about it?

To answer both -no it did not come to the drivers-becau se its a safety issue if it would come loose-no one could have had it in at the finals becaude it was allready banned -Billy its a insert that goes into the top cavity of the blower-

Mike, thanks very much for taking the time to reply. As I read that amendment it says that it is effective 1 Jan 2018 so the shoe was legal @ Pomona. That would tend to indicate that there is no safety issue but rather a performance change for next year in favor of the A Fuel combination.
As you indicate, there was no consultation with the Driver's Commission about it. I just find it all quite interesting.

Could you post a picture of one? I'm not sure I've ever seen one. Did a Google search but came up empty. Thanks.

They have been out of the cars for at least the second half of the year. We had one in our car in Seattle and they told us to remove it. It does show some boast but I haven't seen it on an ET slip. I don't think this rule is that big of a deal and I would be surprised if any of the faster dragsters have one to begin with.
