I need to get a new helmet this year and I'm wondering what helmets people have good luck with in regards to the shield fogging up. I've always had Simpson Bandits, but they fog up really bad even with the air turned on, anti-fog shields and wiping them with anti-fog cloths.

    Suggestions?

I always thought the fogging issue would be resolved with a fresh air system but it doesn't sound like it is from what you're saying. It is irritating when it happens but I have never turned getting it resolved into a science project. What I have gotten away with is keeping my helmet pretty warm and I have done this by just setting it on top of the converter drive/transmission after a run and leaving it there until the next round. Obviously any heat source would do the job but I haven't used anything else. Another thing that I brought from my street bike motorcycle riding to deal with the fogging issue is to breath in through my nose and out through my mouth and try to direct the air down toward my chin when I breath out. Between these two things I have never had unmanageable fogging issues but it would be nice to hear if someone has a product that take care of it completely.

    dawn

After giving up on the no fog wipes, scuba wipes, no fog visors, etc., went back to the old trick of buffing dawn dish soap on my visor. worked the best by far. I would take some dawn, buff it on the inside and out, then take a clean shop rag and buff it off. I did it every run.

I often wondered how well it would work if you teed off the fresh air line inside the helmet and ran another line, having it blow on the visor...that is assuming it's legal

I re-routed the line inside the helmet so it's blowing straight up at the shield. I also put duct tape over my nose as a breath deflector and I stuff a paper towel up under the visor while it's up when I'm doing the burnout and pull it out right before I put the visor down. All that works most of the time, but it's a pain to deal with every run. You'd think this would've been solved by now, or maybe I'm just full of hot air...

I have had the best luck with a Impact nitro helmet with the mask inside then the fresh air actually blows on the shield as you are breathing outside air
not saying its perfect but it think better than the simpson bandits

OK guys...tip from Frank Hawley's school a long time ago !
Hand warmers in a small cloth pack...velcroed to the shield untill you start the car. A warm shield will not fog. The packs are cheap at a outdoor store and anyone can make a pouch.
    Works for me.

Frank had us all use his brand anti fog and although I left my visor up in the door car, everyone else said it fixed the fogging

Fogtech anti fog wipes or solution is the stuff. I have only used the wipes, but works well even out snowmobiling. Downside is you cannot use it on the simpson anti fog visors because whatever coating they put on them "crazes" and looks like broken glass. Works great. I have tried several other "anti fog" remedies, including the dish soap deal with no results. FOGTECH actually works. Easy to buy on the internet, jus
