Hi, I have an ACD auto shifter that cam with my pro mod and I have a Leahy unit that seems a bit lighter and with less plumbing.

I was planning to use a Leahy 8 channel timer to control my 4 stage fuel management and I use the power grid to control the Leahy auto shifter for my 3 spd. Then there is no pneumatics involved.

With the ACD deal I would still need the 8 channel and power grid but would have to have the additional ACD controller, wiring, and pneumatic plumbing, and regulator.

I have no experience using either but was wondering if there is a benefit to using one over the other.

    Thanks,

Lahee hands down. That acd is junk and it's a dumb program. It only knows rpm. It has no idea if you blew the tires off. Let's say you blow the tires off. It won't hit the limited it will go thru all the years and triple the wheel speed and you'll be in the wall before 60ft cone. Google Raymond commissio crash. Watched how fast he drove thri the wall. Acd shifter. It's old and primitave. Lahee alteast has timers you can move so it won't shift until it passes a set time. So you hit the limiter instead. Big deal. Saves the car. You can't react fast enough with a acd. Too many people have totaled cars with acd

Hi, I am familiar w/ Ray's crash and I knew part of the problem was it shifted while spinning.

What I was going to do before and now will again, is use the power grid to control it with RPM, there is a safety feature on there where I can set a minimum time before it shifts so that does not happen. It only has the safety in low gear I think because I have to use the shift light wire to activate the high gear since there is only one rpm/timed event timer on the grid.

Will it be a problem not having the safety in high gear? If it is I may be able to rig something up for a timed safety.

    Thanks,
    Trev
