Have decided to tow to Bakersfield for the Reunion and run the 7.0 Pro class but need to slow my car down to hit the index. Runs 6.50's in Denver and have no idea exactly how to change the tune up especially with the change in elevation. I have no illusions of going out there and winning the event against these guys that are running the class all the time but just want to get out of town for a few days and be part of the historic event and track. Need someone to help crunch some numbers to come up with compression ratio change, blower speed, fuel, etc to try to get close to their index. Also, we will be short a crew member and could use some help if anyone will be there. Any help or references would be much appreciated. Clock is ticking...

    stab

If I had to guess, your car would probably run 6.20's at sea level.

If I was taking a stab at it, would get some blower pulleys to try 40 over, correct the fuel for the DA change, but not much for OD change. Back the timing off to 22 and see what it does. You may have to go to 30 or lower.

Thanks Will! If all else fails I can pull a couple plug wires off!! It is an all run class so I should get three cracks at it before eliminations, hopefully.

What help do you need, Joe. I'll be there and more than willing to help out.

I run a screw blown hemi dragster in the UK in a bracket class. Can't say I'm much good at
slowing cars down though - last run in competition was a 5.91 on a 6.00 dial - despite lifting before
the 1000' and having the chute out at the line

Much appreciated. Trying to come up with a UTV to tow the car to and from the line with. Can rent a golf cart if all else fails.

Will do, Joe. I should be arriving Thursday late afternoon and will call by the track before finding my motel. If my phone works in Bakersfield (which it didn't in Dallas) I'll call you otherwise I'll find you in the pits.

    Many thanks!

Big thank you to Martyn Jones for his help on our "Bat Outta Hell!" altered team at Bakersfield last weekend! Great company, great fun, qualified 4th out of 34 and won first round. Your help was much appreciated. Hope to see you soon.

My pleasure, Joe. Great meeting you, Lori and Les and I will keep in touch. Maybe get a chance to see you run at Bandimere.
