Just hooked up MSD power grid. Need some help with how to set it up for start retard. The instructions say it can be set up in engine retard tab but Im having trouble figuring it out. Any users out there that can help?

    New problem...

Thanks for the help! Now I have a new problem. Everything is hooked up and programmed but have no fire. Crank it over and no fire. Green light on grid flickers when cranking and solid green when not cranking. Disconnected the grid and have fire..... suggestions??

    Car won't start

Most likely motor isn't cranking fast enough or timing is retarded.

If you are using a Mag you must have the phase right or it won't fire.

You never mentioned if you are using a crank trigger with the Grid or not and if you are then when you hooked up to the mag were you still on the crank trigger or just using the mag. There are a couple of things in the Grid that if set up wrong it will not fire. One big thing before you start with a Grid is to
    1. Download the latest MSD View software and do use the CD that comes with the Grid. That CD can be out of date.
    2. Hook up the laptop to the internet and to the Grid and observe that you have successfully connected then go to Help and check for an Upgrade to the software in the Grid. NOTE....the Grid does not have to be installed in the car to hook up the laptop and do an upgrade. You can just lay the Grid on the table in the house and connect to it with a USB cable and it will get power from the USB cable and you can upgrade it in the house. So if you can't get connected to the internet where the car is then take the Grid out and go to where you can connect to the internet.

Not talking about that. There are other not so direct things in the setup that can cause it not to work.

Thanks everyone for your advice! Called MSD and apparently my grid is two years old and needs some kind of firmware update and start retard cannot be used with a pro mag or it wont have fire....
