Are the intake gaskets blown or is there just oil in the intake and blowing out the exhaust? Do you have zoomies and if you do, are all eight blowing smoke? If you have collectors, are both sides smoking evenly? Do you have it on a level surface when you fire it up or is it on a jack with the front end down and the rear up?

The gaskets are not blown out,the bottom of the gasket which is on the head (intake opening) is wet,the entire floor of the manifold is wet. I noticed today that only 6 pipes were smoking (zoomies)

I can duplicate your issue without the gasket problems. You said you made two passes with no issues. Did the third pass smoke or did it start smoking while idling? Is your barrel valve set rich or lean at idle?

I don't usually equate white smoke with oil. Is this thing on water?
The bottom of my BB are always wet and the bottom of the gaskets always look to have wicked some oil and/or some alky.
As to the oil in the ports, could this be over rich with too much top lube?

The motor is without coolant, The top lube is the recomended dilution per mfg. this oil is clear.the oil that is in the top end is Brad Penn green, the barrel valve is set to the correct leak down, the problem is definitly oil related, oil is in the headers also.

Can you install the manifold again, tighten it down without the blower on it. Then take a pick tool and see if the gaskets are squeezed all the way around the ports you can access.

So you are saying you diassembeld the engine, installed different rings and NO other changes or maintainence to the blower or the heads ?

As I was saying before I can duplicate this and that was the reason for my questions.

I have a BBC with Total Seal Gapless 2nd rings and Brad Penn oil. I've run this type of ring for over three years since C&A went belly up and there were no ZGS rings to be had. In the time I have run these, I have had zero issues and I run no vacuum pump.

Just recently I ran into a situation that I was drowning the engine in fuel and that caused the rings in some cylinders (the washed out ones) to start blowing smoke just as you described. There was oil in the intake (from reversion) and oil coming out the exhaust. (the nasty green stuff) in addition to the smoke. As soon as I cleared up the fuel flooding issues, the problem went away. Normally only smoked at an idle and when you rapped it from an idle but that was because there was a lot of oil in the zoomies too. I use .062 intake gaskets that are glued to the head and greased on the manifold side and there is no leakage there.

Not saying this is your issue but sounds pretty close to what was happening to me.

468 BBC dart block dart heads littlefield manifold,1471 blower,I just finished installing 1/8" intake gasets.Checked the ports and found no gap on the intake ports, the fuel I run is M1.Calling quits for the night now its time to get on the computer, for what its worth the guy that can figure this out gets a free case of beer at the div 3 race at rt66 courtesy of Moldenhauer racing.DAVE

Im scratching my head and thinking about the only change you made is the rings. I could be wrong but is it possible that the rings have not taken a seat yet or the end gap is wrong therefore creating too much crank pressure and blowing past the valve seals?

    Just brain storming here!

I think my problem was answered with a k valve out of wack, washing the cyl walls creating the white smoke. But how it gets back into the intake baffels the s..t out of me.

    Sounds like..........

It's obvious that your new rings are creating a "better" seal than before.
It also sounds like your valve guides are a lil' on the loose side, allowing the additional pressure to find the weakest link.
