Mike Janisch was using one on his promod. Don't know if he still does.
There is the thinking that it can't keep up with the blower BUT I think if it reduces the crankcase pressure any at all it's a good thing. Zero would be nirvana.

Blower guys tend to think that any extra crap on the car is a bad thing (i'm one of them) BUT then there was a time blower guys thought dry sumps were a passing fad. I will try a Vpump one of these days.

Yes, Mike Janis uses one and so do we on Adam Flamholc's blown promod. I agree with Dave in that it may not draw a below zero vacuum but you sure as heck have much less positive pressure in the crank case. Depending on the motor and the amount of boost you can actually draw a vacuum. Testing has shown it is worth 40-50HP depending on the motor. It just so happens I have an almost new GZ Motorsports Vacuum pump part #VP104N Super Pro 33 CFM pump with a 5.5" pulley part number VPP402 and the adjustable mount to go onto the engine plate for sale. This is designed for supercharged motors. If anyone is interested please email me at mike.c@mindspring.com. I will sell it for a very good price.

You can see it here http://www.gzmotorsports.com/vacuum-pumps.html scroll down to the VP104N Super Pro 33 CFM pump

Are these guys running a low tension oil ring with the vacuum pump setup ?

The reason for my inquiry is after two passes we blew out the intake gaskets and began sucking oil into the intake ports from the valley. The only change this year was adding zero gap rings, need I say no misquetos when it started.

How can you suck in oil through the intake manifold when the manifold is always pressurized by the supercharger? Are you running a vacuum pump now? If so how are you venting the output of the vacuum pump? Between the vacuum pump and the hose connection to the valve cover do you have a one way check valve?

When I pulled the blower off I noticed a lite film of oil on the floor of the manifold and intake port.Like I said befor, the intake the only change was zero gap rings. The intake gaskets are fel pro #1275? never had this until now.

Check your oil level in the blower gearbox and make sure you are not leaking out a rotor oil seal. Do you use Prizm Gel in your blower?

Mike , I disagree as every blower motor I have put a vacuum gauge on , at the port nozzle location, shows vacuum while idling------------------------- if it were showing boost at idle there would be some melted pistons ---

It is a very small amount of boost but the ones I have checked have been positive in pressure. It may depend on how efficient your blower is.

My boost gauge is o at idle, where would the best location for a vacum port to install a gauge? You definitly have my curiosity!

I would be interested also. Attach it to where you have the boost gauge.

Mike , I'm checking N/TF and N/FC 's --- 6-71's at 18% OD on 400 cu in. They would read at 5 to 7 inches of vacuum at idle----------

I have looked a few racepack readouts on blown alky and blown nitro-- big show cars too------------ always a negative reading on boost/vacuum---------

I am reading these numbers below the blower in the manifold, rear and port locations.

Can I tee off after the boost memory?

yes as long as the one way valve is only in the path to the boost gauge

This is really starting to piss me off,I started my motor today within 20 seconds white smoke filled the shop.Pulled the blower, adapter, and manifold only to find same thing, oil in the manifold, intake ports, the gaskets are brand new 3to 5 min. run time,Im thinking maybe go to 1/8 inch thick gaskets instead of 1/16, any help much appreciated.

Have you checked your heads, intake ports, if they have a push rod tube protruding in to the port it might be cracked and allow the port to suck oil out of the valley.

Does your manifold fit properly to the head port surface, same angle, port match up.

How about stem seals or guide clearance on the intake valves ? How about gluing the gaskets to the manifold or head first before installing the manifold ?

What is the adapter you mentioned in your earlier post ? Have you used a gasket to match up to the head and then moved it to the manifold to see if they are consistent with one another ?

The only other thing I can think of is the blower rotors are installed backwards ???

Mark thank you for the response, the adapter is a set back plate for the blower,as I stated in previous post only change this year are Total seal zero gap rings.
