You guys have some of the same issues ive had

    Firesuit left at home...check
    No arm restraints...check
    wheelie bars at home...check

Two things that inadvertenly got left at home, battery charger and air bottle

Heres one for ya. Im so glad I doubled checked my helmet bag to make sure my gloves and arm restraints were in there. My younger bro had conviently stashed a bag of weed in the liner of my helmet. ( This was when I was younger and still living at home ) Gee Mr Tech Inspector I have no idea how that bag of weed got into my helmet. Yeah that woulda looked real good

    oops I forgot the....

    jets for the fuel system,

Yes Lugnut and Frankie, we too forgot the body pole, although Randy Parker had the "pole of shame" that they had constructed at the track one day when they forgot thiers. It was ugly and awkward but we made it work.

Forgot the firesuit once too but luckily the wife was coming later in the car so she brought it.
    :p

I'll do one better, forgot my hole suitcase.

Another story, but not related to this thread. Years ago when I worked on a super comp car, we were leaving Sacramento, driving down Excelsior an old couple were waving to us. We thought they were just being nice. Awhile later we saw someone else waving. I looked in the reaview mirror and noticed why everybody was waving, we were dragging the canopy that was supposed to be attached to the trailer, was now on the ground. This was on top of the 3 out of 4 flat tires we had on the trailer on the way to Sacramento.

..... The keys to the trailer!!!!!

Ben there, dun that. Made it to Calgary AB when I was helping Hank Coolidge, to realize the keys for the masterlocks on the trailer were not with us. Had to find someone with a drill and cut off wheel to cut the locks off. Thats what memories are made of.:eek:

All you needed was the front wheels pointed straight and a hydraulic jack at the far end.:D

    just loosing stuff

Our First race with a new trailer we lost both sets of keys to the trailer during the weekend. We had to lock the side door from the onside and go out the back door. the stupid part is both sets were attached to the same ring since we had just picked it up. We had to drill out the lock on the toolbox to go to the next race.

Well Jim bought this new leather key holder with a loop the belt goes through with a snap clip to hold the key ring. He was VERY PROUD of his new acquisition because he had lost two sets of keys already and had gotten a lot of ribbing about it.
On this key ring were the keys to the truck, camper, car trailer, tool boxes, hitch lock, shop, gate and the spare set for the chase car. Not to mention his own keys that were clipped onto his new holder that he was so proud of he was showing it to everyone. " See no more lost keys" he would say.
You better not lose those that is the last set until we can get more made.
Now off Jim goes as we all must do to take a pee.
Picture him standing in the yes you guessed it the porta pottie.
His new key holder slides off the end of his now unbuckled belt and plunk right into the big hole.
We made him fish them out.

    not my fault

everybody gets in the truck and we start to haul. once on the freeway, we get passed by a really cool car that looks just like the one we have on the trailer. man, thats weird 2 identical cars. well, there is no car left on the trailer and the one passing us was on the trailer. apparently everybody had so much confidence in everybody else, they figured someone handled it. well, stupid luck plays a part as the car goes off the road and lands in the iceplant nice and soft, not even a scratch!!!!!!!!!! obviously this was many, many years ago and has not been attempted since. goes to show, you shouldnt start drinking until after the race. names are to be withheld due to stupidity of all involved!!!!! top that .:eek:

    The Driver

back when we had our TAFC we were racing UDRA at St. Louis the old track when you headed West instead of new format. We got to the track this was before cell phones and couldnt get ahold of the driver to tell him it wasn't rained out to come on down from Indy. He never showed...And there we sat and watched everyone else run..... Now that was embarrasing

    The Parachute

1969 Camaro Quick 8 Car. Open trailer behind a motorhome. Forgot to secure the parachute clip. 10 Foot parachute out the back of the race car into the traffic behind us. Can't see it because of the motorhome width until the wind picks up and pushes it sideways. No tailgaters following after that.
