silicone between blower and manifold

whats the best to use, between blower and manifold and injector and top of blower thanks

 

I use a Coca Cola box with a thin bead of Right Stuff along the pie perimeter for my blower base gasket. I use the screened one for the gasket between the BAU and the Blower.

 

I bought poster board for mine. Trace out the gasket size, make about 3 at a time, hang them up. i use white grease, no silicone. no leaks, runs good, easier to clean up.

 

Do you reuse them?

 

Yes i do. because of no glue, they wipe off. i apply fresh 'lube' and reuse.

 

Dupont 111. Don't leave home without it.

No gaskets. Use it under the blower, gear drive to block, injector to restraint plate, restraint plate to blower, manifold end gaskets, manifold to heads, tastes great as a toothpaste and it keeps your hair in place while surfing the net.

It's a non hardening silicone and it's easy to clean off. No leaks ever.

It's a little pricey. We buy it by the case.

Mike Gordon handed me a tube over 4 years ago and told me Alan Johnson turned him on to it. Never looked back after we consumed our first tube.

My dad uses white grease and a blower gasket, we've never had a problem.

o-ring..dave

 

I've used PLEDGE spray for oh, 40 years or so. Spray several coats on both sides and let it soak in. Won't stick to blower or manifold.

 

I've been using Loctite 598 Black with good results so far.

 

I have everything o-ringed.

 

Blower/ manifold gasket and high pressure grease. It's thicker than most grease and won't wash away as easy as a lighter grease. No problems yet and I reuse the gasket. I've been using silicone above the blower (restraint and hat) because I've had leaks there but seems like some of you are useing grease here too?

 

O-rings

Yes I agree completely, if you have the time, O-ring it and be done with leaks with no slimy stuff.

 

Most all of my stuff is o-ringed.

Do you other o-ringers put a dab of silicone at the o-ring splice like me?

 

We super glue all our O-rings together, thats the industrial standard for making O-rings out of cord.

Other than that I just put some lube on it to keep it in place, and keep from drying the O-ring out.
