I have heard some points boxes do not hold up to it. I would talk with Bob Wyman at System 1.

I know of several teams that sent there mags back to have conventional magnets put back in due to that.

We ran a single earth lead from the front of each head direct to the coil , we didn't delete any of the existing earth leads we run and (touch wood) so far it appears to be good.

I ran that mag from system 1. Never had a points box issue with the 2 years I ran it. However it did eat coils. About 40 runs you could see it go away. It would start to burn your eyes outta your head at idle. Then it would become hard to start. After 5 runs or so it just wouldn't start the car. Swamp in for a new coil and everything was back to normal. Easy starting and no eye burning. I changed the coil wire every race to try also. But 40 runs seemed to be the throw it away number.

If you soup up the ProMag 44 you need to use the FIE coil because the MSD will fail with the extra power

Bob from system 1 said in the end it was maybe 30hp. 50hp was a strong push.We dynoed at ABR and didn't notice anything on a back to back. For all the extra grief that was I switched to COP and never looked back. No more guessing on when a coil will fail or points box quitting for no reason. Evything has plus and minuses.

I'm using fuel tech. For me it's been amazing. I had a ignition box fail but they warrantied it for free. Ive ran the same plug wires for 2 seasons now and can run plugs up to 4-5 runs if I need to. It seems to be easier on plugs for me. Some other guys said the same thing. The car repeats very well with it. Couldn't be happier with them.
