    Hi Guys,
Combo is 526 Blown (1471) hemi in a dragster (T/D).
I've been running a windage tray, however, I spoke to a friend that had a blown Chevy Promod. He said he never used one.

Question: should I use the windage tray or not?
I currently use 50w oil if it matters.

    Thanks in advance.

If the manufacturer of the oil pan recommends a windage tray I would run one. My bet is that they wouldn't supply it if you didn't need it. Dave Germain

I left mine in the parts washer one time on accident.I did not see any difference in oil pressue on the computer. It went back in there before next race though. They are there for a reason.

Why take a chance...if nothing else it will keep your oil from getting whipped into a foam...........

    Windage tray

    Thanks for the replies guys.

The only reason I was "thinking" about it is he mentioned that he doesn't run one because he wants the oil to get to the pan/pickup quicker (especially with thick weight oil).

I'll still run it, I was just curious if others did or did not.

    Thanks again guys.

i think the biggest factor is if it's a dry or wet sump set-up. i'd be a little scared to run a wet-sump w/o one but on a dry-sump the pan just keeps the oil off the track
