Which Hat?

Got a K9 Kobelco hi helix and a 2" DMPE spacer plate, this is on a 511 cu inch bbc.

Question is which is best hat for power? PSI low profile OR Enderle Buzzard?

Any other info needed let me know.

I'd say neither, but go with a carbon like a JBR or a Enderle short/ ugly on the spacer. Cant see the buzzard or the low profile optimum for airflow

 

Sorry should of added can't use Carbon has to be non composite.
We ran with a Big and Ugly but vision is a little bit compromised!! (photo below)
Not worried about looks, just want the best (low) hat for this blower.
I will try Darren too.

 

Might also want to call Les Davenport. Wizbang (Brian Wehrer) was talking to him not long ago, and Les didn't seem to favor the B&U too much.

 

I loved the b&u, gave us very good throttle response and we made 46psi at 15% OD

 

From my understanding of the conversation between Brian and Les, the B&U didn't direct the air into the top of the blower as efficiently as it could.

Never said it was junk or didn't work. I'm just saying that if you want a shorter hat that is more efficient, you might want to talk to Les or Darren before making a purchase.

Otherwise, if you just want a throttle body, flip a coin and buy something you can see over.

Sounds like an awful lot of boost for 15%.

 

It s a very good blower, plus rest of engine helps boost IE heads and inlet manifold.

 

I've never seen a blower that efficient. I think your a little short on camshaft.

for intake and heads to "help" boost they would have to be restrictive not "good".

 

Correct. Excessive boost does nothing for performance assistance. It decreases performance through increased intake heat.

 

Well its making the power so I am happy with it being restrictive.

and fwiw... if you are worried about seeing where you are going in a fuel altered you're not even close on the tune up
