    Hi,
A SBC question today my dad bought a 180" 70's front engine dragster. Complete minus engine, we have a 010 std 4 bolt block, gm steel crank, with scat rods flat top forged pistons, iron dart heads. it has a std gm 671 can we build a very mild blown alcohol engine with this stuff.? Keeping in mind we limit the rpm and don't go crazy. I'd like to hear some opinions or past experiences. Please no shooting me down just a question. Regards Shayne

We run a sbc with a set of RHS iron heads. 500lift cam Diamond pistons 11-5-1 cr, std 671 I modified for race set up, old int man, dart lock 4.00 bore, std GM steel crank, Bill millar rods In our 225 REd we have run 7.28 @ 3400ft. our 60 1.08 launching @ 1600 rpm, 4.11 gear, 12 x 33.5 tire, The key to our setup is the fuel system, we have port & injector nozzles, we last couple years have run a 2 stage fuel system, but we also have a 5 stage timer deal we have used. 60% NA in hat, 22lbs nozzle poppet, 1st pill 65, 2nd 55 @ 65lbs, 80a pump,
MSD 7AL ign with crank trig, our own billet comb crank support, fuel pump drive,
use alum rods, good ignition, and fuel system and you will run very good, our car outruns a lot of the local big engine guys and our driver really makes some of them look bad, NO Electronics not even a Trans brake, right don?
