I have a Ford A96 block that previously had hemi heads on it. The previous owner had the little notches put in the top of the sleeves at the 6 o’clock position for exhaust flow (forgot the technical term). I am going to be running standard pro stock heads so the notches are in my o’ring groves trail. Right now I am planning on getting new sleeves installed but I got to thinking last night...

Can I take the TIG welder to the sleeves and build this area up with a few dimes then have the block bored and decked?

Maybe this is a really dumb idea but seeing I’m a fabricator it makes sense to me. These notches are nowhere near the rings and are barely in the path of the oring groove so it seems like it would work.

Thanks for any help y’all can provide.
