weld liner rims 786X/ Back spacing HELP

Need some help please
received a new set of weld liner wheels last week
on back order nearly 2 months
part # 786X-616588
16 x 16 x 5 0n 5 1/2
advertised back space is 4.380
we measured them and only get 3.875
big differance...
any body have a set they can measure made before 10-21-04 that i can compare to make sure these are not made wrong,,,please
weld assures me this is the only way they have ever made them but can not explain the differance in the advertised BS to what i have
even set pictures to them, they are scratching their heads, agreed they are 3.875 BS
if some body has one made at 4.38 please tell me
this much differance may keep them from clearing the body, hate to mount them up to find out
