I'm looking at a set of AJPE billet BBC heads and they offer them in a 111cc and 118cc chamber volumes. I need to order new pistons anyways so that's not a factor.

I know the 111cc setup will have a lighter piston but other than that what is the advantage I'm missing? The 118cc setup would unshroud the valves better in my opinion or am I wrong?

IMO you want the smaller chamber, assuming the cfm is not hurt.

If you don't run much of a dome anyway it probably doesn't matter.

I'm curious what AJPE would say.

AJPE recommended the small chambers because of the small dome lighter pistons. Flow numbers are within 2-3 cfm of each other on both intake and exhaust.
Any tuning changes with a smaller chamber?
