Vegas low car count

    Anyone know any specific reasons for the low car count at Vegas this weekend. Considering it's one of the nicest tracks in the world, and during a pretty sweet time of the year, I was suprised that the 6 fastest classes were all scraping for cars.

    I know our economy is still in the crapper (not what the Whitehouse will tell you), and racing costs keep going up for the same payout, but this is concerning.

    I think the schedule has something to do with it. The cars that run in the middle of the country have Dallas next weekend and Houston the following weekend. Vegas has a regional the same weekend in Dallas so some west coast racers will have to choose. Just makes it hard to make the trip west when there are so many races coming up in the middle of the country, and quite a few on the east coast just got done.

    I think that is why the fall race has better car counts because it is at the end of the year, you can easily turn it into a 2 or 3 race trip. Who doesn't like 20+ cars going for 8 spots anyway?
