My Williams sheet metal valve covers don’t fit with Manton Rockers. The valve cover is pushed towards the intake. I think they hit the spring on the shaft. The valve covers have stamped aluminum tubes. Should I squash the tubes to fit.

Yes. Squish the tubes to fit as much as possible. I even had to grind down my spark plug ends and spark plug socket wrench. Then silicone the tube into place and put a mark on there to see if it ever moves. Not a big deal every one does it

Manton sells a plug tube to fix this issue.

Are those still the 3 piece glued together tubes? Those were a bad idea. They fell apart with engine heat.

Jay are the stamped aluminum tubes squashed my best option then. I did look on Mantons site and saw the 3pc tubes. Bad idea if they come apart.

That’s what worked best for me. The 3 piece ones came apart during runs at the track. Getting stick in the head or filling the spark plug tube up with oil. Make sure your stamped tubes clear the spark plug so your not pulling the plugs out just to take the covers off.

Been running these tubes for a number of years now and never had any trouble.
Did you contact Manton about them coming apart?
