TAFC crew injury update

Does anyone have knowledge about the guy injured in the staging lanes at Gateway?

 

A friend of mine is one of the NHRA officials that worked that race. He told me that he had his leg broken and other than that he was going to be fine.

No one was careless. It just happened. Wanted to set the record straight

Moving the car up in staging before the driver got in. Our guy got in to steer. One leg in, one leg out, sitting on the left frame rail. Some how let his left foot down and the slick got him. Rolled up his left leg and pulled him out of the car.
He then got his right foot stuck under the transmission. His right leg was broken as he got bend over backward and pulled under the slick.

The golf cart was not going to fast and the golf cart driver was not in a big hurry! The F/C driver was on the back of the golf cart and saw it. He yelled out, but it was already over. No one is to blame it just happened. Bad deal.


He is home and doing good. Crutches but no cast!!! he will probably go to a match race with us on 7/28. Thanks for the concern!!!
