What's the bore size and what second ring are you running? Is it for blown alky?

The new ring manufacturer's recommendation to limit ring flutter is .007 times the bore spacing for both the first and second ring

we run a blown alky deal with a 4.375 bore. we use a .031 moly top, and a 1/16 ductile iron 2nd ring and use around .030 on top, and .026 on 2nd ring. i've never used stainless rings that much, but i know on a moly top ring you better have around .030 on a big bore if you are running it hard (high compression and high boost) otherwise the rings will butt together. call brad, or newberry they will help you with any questions you may have.
    hope this helps

Be safe and go to .032 on top and .028 that way they should not butt if you get alittle off in the tune up. THe little extra gap will never hurt anything. Mike

I agree with Kosky on his #'s . I use those specs and never have a problem with butting and also have great leakdown numbers .I have heard of other racers running larger gaps but if there is no butting problems why run the wider gaps ?.
