I have a RCD front mag drive. It is for the full length mag. MSD20.
My question is ....How much should I be able to turn the rotor by hand? Mine has (on large cap) about 3/8" travel when hot. It tightens up to about 1/4" when cold. I checked the mag itself and no play. And checked the engine drive and no play. So it is the gear mesh........just wondering what is normal.
    Thanks......

FOUND the PROBLEM.........RCD sent out some of these drives with the wrong end cap. We took the drive apart and set the mag in and the bronze gear was 5/16 short of going all the way in. We machined 5/16 off and now it is fine. I have a call into RCD tech and still waiting for a call back. UGH.......
