pump sizer

    So I brought my hemi to the dyno. I had jon salami do a little flowing of fuel system. I have 2 hi speeds and a pump sizer and a 18.4 gal @ 4000 pump speed rage pump. I sent the k11 superman 14-71 to chuck ford for a nice tune up. un modded blower.
    well the blower only made 27.7 lbs at 8000 rpm, should have made 38lbs according to chuck.
    My other dilemma is my pump appears to be too big. or at least since blower made no boost.
    Here are some specs main jet 90 loop 80 hi speed #1 90 50psi hi speed#2 85 80psi port check 15psi system flow 11.4 at 219.2psi @ 8000 rpm. total nozzle 0.03912
    I had to increase pump loop to .150 timing was 29 degrees. This thing is still way fat plugs are cold. hottest plug read 972 degrees.
    After dyno session I put a .170 loop jet in it but have not run it. the motor only made 1532 on dyno. The power also went back down at 7300rpm to 1440hp but egt's slowly continued.
    One more thing100 pump loop had fuel pressure of 99, .120 jet in loop had92 psi, .150 was 81.7 psi
    So my question is can I continue to increase pump loop / sizer to get fuel pressure down and lean this thing out. How far can I go.
    By the way I got .009 feeler gauge in between rotor and case and could rotate rotor past it with ease. I could pull .004 feeler from rotor and case.

    At what overdrive did chuck say it should make 38#'s of boost? Also the lower you make your fuel pressure the more problems you will have. If you think your to rich I would talk to Jon since he set it up I'm sure he will help you out.

    So what is the fuel pressure at 8000 rpm? I think your pressure is dropping too low and you are or will have less fuel atomization. You need to fix the blower or buy a new one. You can't hope to race like that and win. Is the blower fixable?

    Well fuel pressure was 106 psi at 8 k. But as i have been increasing loop jet its down to 81.7 mike. I agree with the need for pressure. But what could be wrong with blower. Stock k11 hh superman blower.
    And chuck said at 20% over 36-38lbs of boost.

    Did Chuck offer to restripe it. That will probably fix it. Unless you have a manifold leak

    What was done to the blower. How big is the opening. What did you spend for updates. Just cuz you paid for updates doesn't mean you got them all. Plus camshaft can affect boost big time. But that thing seem really weak. I've raced 20 od my whole life. M5 made 33lbs of boost and went 5.95@244 @2650. Boost isn't everything.

    superman troubles

    why not send the blower to the people who built it? DMPE can take care of the whole thing. blower repair, dyno work, pump sizing on their flow bench. If you want it fixed and running correctly that is where the whole thing should go. 260 428 5070

    Chuck ford thinks boost is down because cam is sending out exhaust. lsm cam Intake 515 x 1.16 = .824 lift, Exhaust .500 x 1.75 =.875, Duration 292 @.050 Intake and exhaust. Intake opens 30 BTDC Intake closed 82 ABDC, Exhaust opens 82 BBDC Closes 30 ATDC, LCA 116, overlap 60, cam 2.362/ 60mm Firing order 18736542.

    He did mike but didn't think that was it. Stock blower from DMPE

    Blower is not broke. Chuck said it looked good

    You might want to reduce your nozzle area to get fuel pressure up.Nozzle area vs. return area x pump output =amount of fuel into motor and amount of fuel back to tank. I'm thinking to start at about 12 gal to motor.

    Pump is a little big. but decreasing nozzle area will lean it but then pressure will go up and richen it. Right?
    And plugs are cold only have little heat in 1&4.

    That's correct but you need to compute it out or use a program like Jetsize to compute it so you can keep the GPM constant.

    If you don't change the size of the return area, the pressure will go up but the engine will be leaner because of what I said before-nozzle area vs. return area x pump output=% to the engine vs.% back to the tank. The % back to tank is going to more vs.to engine when reducing nozzle area.

    Mike at Rage is Downsizing Pump to 15 Gallons. Then I am Spinning Blower to 35%. I will Decrease Nozzle area by .002 each hole for starters.
    Jon salemi Has been great to work with and will help me dial it in some more. Michael Reechia has been Great as well, old friend.
    I'll update as I go. Still learning
