Pro Top Outlaw Set to Begin Season in Farmington This Weekend

The Pro Top Outlaw Series is set to begin their 6th season of competition this weekend in Farmington, North Carolina at the first ever Tar Heel Nationals. The series, which is a step up from Top Dragster and not quite Top Alcohol, is comprised of dragsters, altereds, and funny cars, either blower or nitrous, all racing heads-up against one another. This event will mark the beginning of the 2007 points chase and last year’s champion Phil Esz and runner-up Brandon Booher will both be in attendance to see if they can rise to the occasion once again.

The 2007 inaugural event will be held on April 13th and 14th beginning with the ever popular “Night of Fire” qualifying at 7:30 PM on Friday. The event is yet another milestone for the series as they hit the quarter-mile for the first time ever at Farmington Dragway. The event will feature a 16 car field with The Pro Top Outlaws (qualifiers 1 thru 8) and the Pro Top Bandits (qualifiers 9 thru 16) each racing for their respective trophies during eliminations on Saturday.

“We are really excited to get the season underway. There has been a lot of interest in the series in the off season and it will be great to see some new competitors out on the circuit. As we continue to grow, we are confident that we will put on an even better show for drag racing fans across the country. This is shaping up to be our most successful season yet,” said Ron Bales, President of PTO.

Qualifying will continue on Saturday at 4 PM and 5:30 PM. And all the exciting racing action will get underway at 7 PM that evening.

    Friday Spectator Tickets: $10
    Saturday Spectator Tickets: $15

    Rain Date: Sunday, April 15th

The series has a contingency program in place as well as payouts for each event. This could not be possible without the support from the following sponsors, Fowler Engines, Flatout Gaskets, Stroud Safety, Renegade, Mickey Thompson Tires, R&R Racing Products, Performance Torque Converters, Aaron Sipple Engineering, Handi Hauler, No Limit Race Cars, Vickery Speed Shop and RWR Motorsports.

As PTO continues to grow they are looking for new members to join the organization. To find out more about the Pro Top Outlaw Series please click on the link below www.ProTopOutlaws.com.
