Wilson Racing traveling back to Route 66!

Winfield, Mo., This weekend's NHRA /Lucas Oil Division 3 Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. just south of Chicago July 15th-17th is in the next stop for the TORCO Race Fuels / Wilson Racing Team for 2005.

Wilson Racing upset the # 1 Qualifier in the 1st round last month in Chicago and is planning on not playing underdog again this weekend. "We need to qualify in the top half of the field this weekend and not put our team under that type of pressure during elimination's. Our goal this weekend is no different from what it has always been, to make the top half of the field on our 1st run like we did in Stanton when we were qualified number 2 after the first session. This weekend we need to improve each session and keep pace with everyone else and not slide down the ladder" stated Wilson.

The Torco Race Fuels / Wilson Racing Team is looking to get back on track after only one week off and very little time to make the necessary changes for this weekend. "We made a few changes for this weekend in the hopes that we are continuing to go in the right direction." stated Wilson. "Every track surface is different as well as the weather conditions, so we have to make our pre event changes based upon what we think the conditions will be. We will continue working diligently to produce the best results possible, not only for our team but for all our sponsors as well as every one that supports us week after week".

"Our entire team has worked very hard to keep us in contention for the NHRA / Lucas Oil Championship and we are still very much in the chase. We are currently number 2 so we are still in contention and that is why qualifying as well as each and every round is so crucial at this point of the season". stated Wilson.

We appreciate all the support we receive from all of our sponsors week after week," commented Wilson. (Torco Race Fuels, STARCON, Spitzer Race Cars and Composites, Mickey Thompson Tires, Valvoline, Scott Shop Towels, Abmira Program Design, NGK Spark Plugs, Jacklyn Gebhardt Trailer Sales, American Colorscans Commercial Graphics, Stainless Works, Iron Clad Glove Company and Scott Mack Designs.) "We look forward to doing our best each and every run, all year long, and hopefully we can put them in the winner's circle again this very soon."

Qualifying starts on Friday for the alcohol cars, with two more sessions on Saturday and elimination's on Sunday. Stay tuned to InsideTopAlcohol.com for the latest news in alcohol racing.
