Depends on what type of mag you have, and type of racing

forget about etc and autometer with a sm1v or better tried them all. Psi in my opinion was the best of them.

I have used the ect limiters.
The guy that makes them is a real gentleman.
He makes all type of electrical stuff for racing.
And he stands by his parts.

But msd pro mag. with a rev limiter is the best way to go.
Saved my engine on the weekend.
Broke traction 75 foot out. As our Australian tracks are not as good as the USA.

    Thanks Wayne Talbot.

    Psi

From the way i understand or have been told a PSI works is with springs, centrifugal force throw contacts apart, ignition stops...is this correct?
does is shut the engine down or does it fire once the rpm come back together?

    thanks

    Psi Shuts motor down.
    Better than a rod out.

Ect works like a soft touch.
Took 2 units until we got it right.

They worked but I never liked to rely on them.
Most people use the psi and Mallory .

In my opinion I would look out for a pro mag 20.
Or a 44. They are getting cheaper and cheaper.

    Cheers Wayne.
Would it be stupid to run a Psi and a Etc say I want to limit mine to 8000 as I only want to run 7.4's or so. Maybe have the Etc to 8500 and a psi at 9000?
I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible due to my limited tuning experience and driving experience.
I am running a two speed Lenco 34% first. A 10" two plate pedal clutch, 4:56 and 4:11 gears I have both and a 34 inch tyre, how quick do the revs come up when it gets loose or even put of the water box?? Stupid question I guess. But I'm expecting my combo not to be to wild out of the hole. Cheers

That is basically true, once revs come down you will regain spark, The PSI is not overly accurate +/- 500 rpm, I think of them as a over limiter, if something breaks they go straight to limit. The advantage of them is you can run wire leads, points mags love wire leads !! electronic limiters get a bit tricky with wire leads
