what is the correct ratio of mixing nitro and hydrozine for use in a blown hemi ?
Do you know how dangerous hydrazine is to humans. It is really bad and causes cancer. They use it in the Air Force on some jets and they have to wear special suits because it is so hazardous
Yea, but they go fast....
If you do some research on the inter net you will find enough info that should convince you not to mess with it. There are much better and safer ways of increasing horsepower with out blowing up yourself and others around you.
I think Jody knows . He just wants to have some fun with us. How about a Turbonique rocket Jody ?
Don't forget PO, (propylene oxide)
Would make for a good Youtube video ....
Here hold my beer and watch this, lol
Hahaha. Had to wake this place up a little bit and see who was paying attention. Lol.
Must have re-read this:
My favorite quote, "never mind this stuff will throw your crank on the ground after just a couple of runs, but if you happen to tap the carb with a wrench, it’ll blow your face off. Let’s go racing!"
Lol. My buddy Mike Kopchick said that you could tell the guys running it .... made the tips of the header flames green.
Maybe Jody is the guy in the orange hazmat suit ?.....
If the US military shoots down a Chinese satellite because it has 500 or so pounds of frozen hydrazine on board, to protect earth/humanity, that's gotta tell you a bit about how serious this stuff is viewed !
Just put Sterno on the plenum of the intake.....friend tells me it works.
There were a few low buck teams back in the Pro Comp days that used PO. It made some flame, smelled like a can of Kiwi Shoe Polish, and often nipped the spark plug electrodes.
Cool old NASA video on Hydrazine. Great opening scene....
Take a look at this Chris Karamesines tried it
One of the internet sources recently reported that those fuel mixtures can spontaneously ignite an hour or a week later.
Years ago, I was spectating at a nitro show. One of the cars made a run, and everyone in the grandstands started gagging really badly from the exhaust. The rumor was that it was hydrazine. It didn't affect ... didn't ... dddiddnn''t .... affect m .. m ... mee. So I gues it wer OK.
Actually, there was group of spectators ready to beat the crap out of the people running the nitro car with the h.. or p... or whatever it was.
A number of decades ago, when they ran Top fuel bikes at Indy, a bike fellow two rows over from us in the staging lanes had let his hydrazine assisted mixture set a bit too long in the tank. It spontaneously combusted as he was getting ready to pull out to the starting line, blowing a head off, and launching him at least 10' into the air. Not fun....
