Something needs to be done. 5 cars at division races. Really? Easy road to win a championship only having to race one car to win a race. Should combine divisions or something?? With the car counts they are having, NHRA needs to lower entry fees or have low qualifier awards again. This is making me want to follow NASCAR again. Sorry, just venting!

    Any ideas anyone?

Yes....don't schedule a race in Ennis and a race in Grand Bend on the same weekend.

D3 had 11 dragsters with a forecast that for a week called for 80%+ precipitation.

    ideas

Just some thoughts on getting participant out to race expenive cars

    - increase the purses to realistic levels ... meaning the track still makes money and the teams recover some cash

    - media coverage would be a benifit but probably will vary greatly from market to market ... perhaps a sponsor could offset this ?? just throwing these out there

    - instead of combining divisions .... make more, smaller ones so the racer doesnt have to travel so far .... makes more champions ...

    - championship should pay more as well ??

    - if you think NHRA sucks check out the alternatives ha ha

    just another .02

Haven't looked at any schedules, but I do know for sure that Tulsa Raceway Park is hype-ing their upcoming LODRS localy. Centraly located, excelant facility, should make for a great drag race, the track is trying, just need cars through the gate.

As far back as I can remember Div. 2 has rarely had 8 FC's at a Div. race! 4-5 is the Norm, meanwhile Div's 3-7 get over 12 at just about every event

    Car Count

At the Cajun Sports Nationals there were a small number of TAFC cars, don't remember exact number. However total car count was 475. That's a very healthy number. Contrast that to the IHRA Mardi Gras Nationals which had probably half the car count. The amazing thing is that at the NHRA race the spectators were few(cold weather certainly didn't help Sunday). At the IHRA race the stands were full, a fantastic fan turnout.

D2 is known for low car counts in TAD and TAFC. Racers from far, far away have been traveling to that division for years - Barney (CA), Bartone (NY), Payne (CA), Thacker (IL), Sickles (NY), Olivarez (UT), Force (CA), Shields (NV), Ferro (CT), Ray (CA), Lucas (IN)...
