Digital 10+ with 770mj of spark energy.
I started to feel misfires in third gear around the 10th pass or so on the new combo. The last pass, it was misfiring bad and at 1000 feet the car felt like it shut right off….I was changing tune up but it was on track, so I started looking for ignition issues.
I tested the wires, including the coil wire for high resistance, but all was fine..(40ohms per foot) I was just about to send the Dig 10+ and coil to MSD for bench testing, but found the rotor in this condition.

Phasing is off so the spark is jumping between posts and looking for the easiest path of resistance, You are runing a crank trigger right?

When you start running arc welder type ignitions you need to upgrade the rotor blade also.
Change over to the MSD #7411 (kit) and make sure your rotor phasing is right also. This unit can also be adapted to a front drive mallory with a little bit of modifying.

Tried to provide a picture but the computor was smarter than me.
Hopefully that will give you a picture.

Also make sure heads are grounded to chassis and run ground from that point directly to barttery. i was eating up rotors with a MSD-10, MSD told me to do this and it took care of the problem.

Another thing to check is to make sure that you don't have a gap between the rotor contact and the cap carbon. If you do then your rotor will burn from arcing.

been using a msd 10 , with alternater , with sbc , crab top msd dist , twin turbo , mech fuel inject. since 2005
i wet and dried the contacts , offten , inside the dist , due to "fugus , corrosion " , inside cap.
drilled a hole in cap to allow air to circulate, and put the hole above #1 plug lead to check phasing...
nil 'fugus - corrosion " since hole drilled.

    Lorenzo,
You just don't understand! If you store the distributor cap in an aquarium, with 38 frogs and lizards for 72 to 97 days, you will have "fugus" on the cap! (you only store it there because the tank behind your toilet is already full) At that point, you have to deal with it!:)
    So, .................... what's the question again?:D

[IMG] So let me get this right, the distributer doubles as a climbing post for the frogs and lizards which in turn creates this "fugas" stuff. Well hell Then I must have Guano in my cap, I store my spare cap up in the bellfree with the bats. Is this the same process they use to make Hagass [IMG]

fugus.... fuzzy white/ grey stuff that could be corrision
same as the yucky stuff that gets on the battery terminals..
    lol

with the high humidity , and temp over here, it must get a bit stuffy under the cap....

That kit only works with a pro mag cap, with my BBF distributor, I can only use the normal MSD distributor cap to clear the supercharger.

What ever happened to good old American ingenuity? You may have to modify it some but you can make it work with just about any distributor out there. I modified it to work in my Jesel Mallory front belt drive unit. The electricity does not know the difference.
Don't mean any disrespect, just get fustrated. The hot rodders today would have never made it in the days before all the after market off the shelf stuff was made.
