    using dave lahees timing monitor
promod brad 5 crower 10 inch 3disk mag 44 crank trigger
lahee mag/crank trigger switch new computech data max
timing 27 mag and crank trigger
ramp 10-0 all in by 1 second or 60 ft aprox
i will have 1 good run goes right down the track 4.05
and the timing ramp is good and smooth with 1 degree of
    variation
next run will go about 100 ft and get loose
looking at data timing is fluctuating from
27 to 33 from launch to letting off throttle
if this is correct this will end my motors life
but is this interferance or from the tire shake
on this run it was good to 60 ft and timing was
    still flutuating
by the way these are spikes that are fairly wide up and down
smoothing will not get rid of them
why is it adding 5 degrees
    is this interferance or what
any ideas besides using a 6 shooter
    thanks

The question is.... Is that really happening? I understand from several racers that the timing monitor in the data loggers is pretty unstable and shows that fluctuation without it really happening. Are you saying that this timing instability only shows when you have tire shake? If it is bad tire shake then the motor is feeling it and the crankshaft maybe is flexing because of it and it really is moving the timing around. Tire shake can cause motor problems.
