Got a weird one. Screw Hemi with grid and 44 mag, with Spud mag/trigger switch.
Set mag at 25 like I normally do statically.
Started on crank trigger - perfect at 25 on timing gun
Switch over to mag - big flames out exhaust.
Ran mag on its own - same and could not adjust timing to 25
    Changed mag - same
    Am here missing something?

Need more clarity on what you did/did not do. It sounds like the mag/trigger switch wiring is backwards and pointing you in the wrong direction but need more info. Plug the mag into itself (mag pickup) with nothing else, no switch/no grid/no trigger. Then you need to run it only on the trigger, no switch/no grid. This will tell you where the problem is at.

Changed the grid, and all back to normal.
